What is the Emerging Choreographer's Project?
Emerging Choreographers Project provides a space for emerging and up and coming regional choreographers to receive funding, showcase new work, and receive feedback from the community in an intimate setting.
Anna Pillot is a trapeze artist, dancer, and choreographer based in Albany, NY. Anna holds a B.A. in dance performance & choreography with Spanish as a second major from Hope College, and she is a senior flexibility and hand stand instructor through Deflying Fitnes. She has performed with dANCEpROjECt (Holland, MI), Grosso Modo (Queretaro, Mexico), Richard Rivera-Physual, Valerie Green Dance Entropy, and People Who Move (New York, NY). Her choreography has been seen in NYC at Green Space Blooms, The Amalgamate Artist Series, St. Peter's Church, Movement Research Open Performance, at various venues in the Capital Region, including Albany Barn, The eba Theatre, The Spa Little Theater as a finalist with Nacre Dance's So You Think You Can Choreograph 2014, and at Troy High School, as well as internationally in with Grosso Modo (Mexico), and in Defyling Feets' "Heirloom Toys," (Canada). In the air, Anna specializes in swinging, fixed, and dance trapeze. She has worked for Cirque du Soleil, Marquise Productions, Seano's Circus Theatricks, and has performed in various venues throughout the Northeast. Anna currently performs with Maude Baum & Co. Dance Theatre, and is passionate about collaboration and the creation of opportunities within the Albany dance community.
